Management Buy-Out of Six Degrees PR
D5 Capital advised management.
(Marlow: 6th April 2007) A management team led by Jennifer Janson and Mark James has successfully purchased a majority equity stake in technology PR specialist Six Degrees from founders Roger and Angela Staton for an undisclosed sum.
Formerly know as Roger Staton Associates, Six Degrees is expert in marketing consumer and B2B technology businesses through media and analyst relations and digital communications. Six Degrees will continue to operate from the unique converted church in Marlow, acting for blue chip names such as Skype and Ericsson.
D5 Capital advised the management team on the negotiation with the Vendors.
Commenting on the MBO, Rupert Ashe, CEO of D5 Capital said:
"Management Buy Outs are pretty rare in the PR world, as funding is often difficult to engineer. There are few assets to provide security for bank debt and management teams can struggle to raise sufficient equity. This is a very good transaction for Six Degrees, ensuring succession and new management impetus in the life of the business."
