Engine Group acquires Slice PR
D5 Capital advised Slice PR.
(June 2007, London) Slice PR, specialists in consumer and youth communications, have joined the WCRS Group in a transaction involving the purchase of 60% of the company. WCRS, whose clients include Heinz, GSK, Prudential and 118-118, were named Marketing Weeks Agency of the Year in 2005. The Slice acquisition adds a Consumer PR dimension to the group as it builds the range of marketing services ahead of a possible stock market flotation.
Damian Mould founded Slice PR in 1991 to focus on communications to the youth market. The fusion of music talent with established brands gave the company a clear differentiation in the marketplace that allowed the business to attract major clients including Heineken, Microsoft Xbox, Yahoo and Nike. The business now has three divisions: PR, Events and Music.
D5 Capital has advised Slice PR since 2004 and advised the Company on the deal with WCRS.
Commenting on the acquisition, Rupert Ashe, CEO of D5 Capital said:
"Slice will fit perfectly into the WCRS Group. Both companies have superb brands on their respective client lists and could enhance each other's offering, particularly in the field of experiential marketing, where Slice are particularly strong. The deal provides value to Slice shareholders and leaves them considerable upside exposure to the growth of the group in the next few years."
